What does this tool do?

This Image Collage Maker takes any number of input images and arranges them into a clean grid collage on a canvas. You control four parameters that fully define the layout:

• Columns. Choose 2, 3, or 4 columns. The number of rows is calculated automatically from the image count.
• Spacing. The gap in pixels between cells (and around the outer edge). Set to 0 for a seamless tile look, or increase for a framed photo-wall feel.
• Background. The color that fills the spacing gaps. White is the default for a classic photo-sheet look; black works well for dark-themed images; any custom color is supported.
• Cell size. The width and height of each square cell in pixels. Larger cells mean a higher-resolution collage; smaller cells keep the output file compact.

Each image is scaled to fit (contain) inside its cell while preserving its original aspect ratio, then centered. The final canvas is exported as a lossless PNG named collage.png so it opens everywhere with no quality loss.

Collage layout tips

A few practical tips will help you get better-looking collages. Pick the column count based on the number of images: 2 columns for 2–4 images, 3 columns for 6–12 images, and 4 columns for 12 or more. If your images have mixed aspect ratios, a small spacing (4–12 px) and a neutral background (white or light gray) creates a clean photo-wall look; setting spacing to 0 produces a seamless mosaic. For print use, increase the cell size to 600–800 px so the final collage has enough resolution. For web use, 300–400 px per cell keeps the file size reasonable while still looking sharp on most screens.
